FAQs

What is a non-medical caregiver?
A non-medical caregiver is an individual who provides in-home care to an elderly or anyone who needs extra help within their household. A non-medical caregiver does not assist in any medical procedures but provides basic care, companionship, and light housekeeping.
Why the need for non-medical home care?
A non-medical home care is a great alternative to assisted living or nursing homes. Aside from affordability, a non-medical home care allows seniors to stay at home and have more flexibility and quality time, as they can simply rely on caregivers to assist them.

Why is Home Fairies different from other agencies?
Home Fairies is not a referral agency, which merely “refers” a qualified individual as an independent contractor. Home Fairies is a direct employer, and for being so we are accountable for the services rendered by our caregivers. They are our own employees, and we assure you that they are properly trained, background-checked, and completely protected with liability insurance. Rest assured our caregivers perform their jobs in accordance to the company’s training, policies, and objective.
Do you accept any type of insurance like Medicare or Medicaid?
Home Fairies would be glad to assist you in verifying your insurance benefits and limitations.
How do you screen your caregivers?
Each one of them goes through a comprehensive background check – we verify their skills and most importantly, their character, through their employment history, personal and business references. They are also insured and bonded.
Do you charge a fee for consultation?
No. Home Fairies offers a free, no-obligation consultation.
How do I get started?

There are 4 simple steps to get started:

  1. Initial visit and assessment. Home Fairies begins with a visit to evaluate and assess your or your loved one’s needs. We gather information such as client’s budget, likes and dislikes, special needs, restrictions, and the like.
  2. Customized Care Plan. We create a plan based on the gathered information. Then we match it with one of our caregivers whose experience and skills meet the client’s needs and expectations. Prior to final agreement, we will send a proposal detailing the fees and services included.
  3. Introduction and Agreement. Home Fairies and client will discuss the service agreement outlining the rate, scope of services, restrictions and limitations. At this point, we shall also introduce to you the assigned caregiver.
  4. Regular Monitoring. We conduct regular visits and phone calls to check the client’s and caregiver’s relationship status. We want to make sure that you are completely satisfied with our services.
Will I be tied up in a contract?

No. There is no contract or obligation to avail our services for a certain period. Hence, cancellation can be made whenever the client wishes to do so. However, we would appreciate at least 48 hours notice of cancellation for proper transition of our employees/caregivers (change in schedules, assignments, etc.).

What are your rates?

Please call our office at (510) 363-8118 and we will be happy to provide you with a quote. Rates are based on the type of care and services you need. For a more detailed pricing, we recommend our free, no-obligation consultation with one of our representatives.

What happens if my caregiver gets sick or would like to take a day off?

Home Fairies has a team of on-call caregivers. We will send you a substitute or reliever if your caregiver gets sick or would like to take a day off.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept personal checks, cashier’s checks, Paypal and all major credit cards via online payment.
